Dr. Maria Tempera has recognized the need for comprehensive dermatology care that is accessible, affordable and provided in a welcoming, unrushed environment. Dr. Tempera’s approach to patient care includes a thorough, detail oriented and holistic approach that ensures patients will receive exceptional quality of care. Chiara Skin Clinic not only provides aesthetic treatments, but also provides medical dermatology services.
Dr. Tempera is a board certified physician. She completed her residency in Family Medicine and is fellowship trained in Dermatology. She completed her undergraduate studies at Villanova University with honors. She received her medical degree from Rowan University-School of Osteopathic Medicine. She went on to complete her internship and residency in Family Medicine at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ. During her final year of residency, Dr. Tempera was selected to serve as Chief Resident. She subsequently completed a fellowship in Dermatology at the Skin Care and Surgery Center in Summit, NJ.
In addition to Chiara Skin Clinic, Dr. Tempera also practices Dermatology for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Dr. Tempera has been selected to serve as a lead for Dermatology care for VISN IV (PA, parts of NJ and DA) as a member of the Specialty Care Integrated Clinical Community. Dr. Tempera is a recipient of the Alfred “Tersh” Murdock, D.O. Resident Teaching Award in 2017 and is the author of several publications.
